PROJECT BRIEF

As 2015 marked the 30th anniversary of musician Tom Wait's junkyard pop masterpieces, Swordfishtrombones and Raindogs, an anniversary series of vinyl reissue singles of all the tracks from the albums required a jacket design built within the style of commercial spot illustration while focusing on anthropomorphics relevant to the content within the single. 

CONCEPT

To directly reference the sad, lonely and depressive tonality and context of the lyrics, a distressed halftone texture within the imagery while being backed by a used and weathered paper stock relay back to a town forgotten.
